After several brief stories about Dave and Jenny’s work at Shadow Hills, the event was turned over to Patric Miller, who presented a “History of the Shelton Era” video ( see link below).įollowing the video, several members spoke of their gratitude, and personal stories of Jenny’s helpfulness and creativity, as well as Dave’s dedication to making significant changes to Shadow Hills that will last for generations to come. Starting off with an introduction by current Board President, Marilyn France, it was officially MC’d by longtime board President and committee member, Jim Creech. What follows is a short list of experiences related to me in a casual conversation upon his return to “normal life.”Īn overflow crowd attended Dave and Jenny’s retirement reception on April 3rd, to recap an overwhelmingly successful 16 years of service to Shadow Hills CC. One that none of us SHCC member-golfers could ever imagine. Kim, Poulter, Westwood, Stenson, Johnson, Yang, Garcia, Scott, Cantaly, and Harrington, are just a handful of tour professionals who also didn’t make the cut to “play on the weekend.”īut, this article isn’t about the outcome, it’s about the experience. So, he wasn’t pleased with his final scores, even though a huge range of very well-known, long-time tour pros also had similar scores below the cut line. To say that he is “super competitive” would be an understatement of epic proportions. I have known Colin since his days in High School. But our own Assistant Golf Pro, Colin Inglis had that very opportunity, by earning a slot in the recent PGA Player’s Championship, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Exciting, fun, and terrifying don’t begin to explain the range of emotions that even the best club golf pros would experience. Playing in a PGA Major tournament event, as a working club assistant pro, with a family to raise, and limited practice time, is tantamount to being a “local hero,” nightclub band, guitar player, and then being asked to share the stage in an arena concert with the Rolling Stones.

Another great year of Shadow Hills Crazy 8 events came to a conclusion with the annual Luau Event.
